Broaderworld is a convenience tracker for family and friends. It is not a navigation aid, not a safety-of-life system, and not a substitute for proper marine distress equipment such as an EPIRB, VHF DSC radio, or calling your local emergency number. Positions can be delayed, wrong or missing — AIS coverage has gaps, phones lose signal and batteries die. The distress alarm sends an SMS to a monitored contact on a best-effort basis only; it does not alert rescue authorities. Never let anything on this site delay a real distress call.
The service is in early access. Features may change, break or be withdrawn, and data may occasionally be reset. We'll be sensible about it, but you shouldn't build anything critical on top just yet.
You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. Only register vessels you own, operate, or have the owner's permission to track, and only enter an MMSI that belongs to that vessel. Don't use the service to track a vessel or person without their knowledge and consent — that's grounds for immediate removal, besides likely being illegal.
Your vessel's share link shows its name and recent track to anyone who has the link. You decide who gets it, and you accept that people you share it with may pass it on. See the privacy policy for exactly what a viewer can see and for how long data is kept.
Developer API keys give programmatic access to your own vessels' data. Keep keys secret, use the API fairly (no scraping, flooding or resale of raw data), and note that we may throttle or revoke keys that cause problems.
Don't attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, spoof positions or distress alarms, or use the service for anything unlawful. A false distress alarm wastes real people's time — trigger it only in a genuine emergency, and stand it down as soon as you're safe.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law — including the Australian Consumer Law, under which you may have rights we can't exclude — IATRT is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including reliance on position data or the distress alarm.
You can stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Northern Territory, Australia.
